The photo is good. The lamp is better.
Every person who's gotten one has said some version of that. Real scallop shells catch and diffuse light in a way that's genuinely hard to photograph: warm, layered, alive when it's lit. You kind of have to see it in person.
This is my take on the classic Oceanic Arts shell lamp, the style that has been setting the mood in serious tiki bars since the mid-20th century. Each shell gets two holes drilled by hand and is zip-tied to a wire mesh frame, one by one. The count comes in just under fifty, and a couple of spares ship with every lamp in case one gets dinged in transit.
Highlights
- Real scallop shells on a wire mesh frame, a resin base panel in your choice of style, and a natural thatch hat.
- Flame-effect LED bulb included, with a flicker mode. Warm amber, does exactly what you'd want it to.
- About 14 inches tall including the hat, 12 inches across. Hangs well at bar height or over a corner of the lounge.
- Two bases: Lagoon Lore, real seashells and sea glass in clear resin, calm and blue-green; or Volcano's Embrace, lava-style resin in deep reds and dark stone tones. Bulb access is a two-screw cap.
