A tiki bar opens at the Fort Myers airport
The Boathouse Tiki Bar & Grill officially opened October 6 in the main terminal at Southwest Florida International Airport, in the hallway leading to Concourse B. It sits pre-TSA for now, but once the terminal expansion wraps it will be the first restaurant past security. Color me skeptical, but a layover mai tai beats a layover nothing. Naples Daily News
DC gets a spaceship diner tiki bar
Astro Zombie is landing in Dupont Circle this fall, a tiki bar from the owners of Astoria and Copycat Co. The owner calls it a "spaceship diner" serving zombie and monster cocktails alongside a Chinese-American menu. CityCast DC
